The Journey of the Egg !

The first time I came to know the existence of the 'eggs' was in 1988 in our biology class. The next time I got a glimpse of the actual tortures of the 'egg' was when my mom got her hysterectomy done in 1999 !

I had never seen her so sensitive and so emotional.
She would cry at the drop of a hat and feel bad at anything we said.

Our family Dr. told us to be patient, remain quiet and just let the phase pass since she was apparently responding to hormonal fluctuations in her body.

"Hormonal Fluctuations" !!!

What's that, was my first response. Followed by 'Oh come on, these are justifications for her to do whatever she wants'! I was SO wrong. I came to this conclusion only after a year passed and she came back to her own self. Yes, ONE YEAR!

I am not exaggerating but that one year our house atmosphere was quite volatile. Am glad that we all survived. Thanks to Science and Medical Science for it.

It was in 1999 that I started actually started reading about the biological, physical and emotional effects of Estrogen, Progesterone and Testosterone on our body. The Trio - PET! There is a whole field of science called 'Endocrinology' dedicated to their biological and physical effects. It does touch upon their emotional effects too but then it moves on to 'Psychology' or may be an interesting cocktail to Psychology, Biology and Endocrinology with some help from Mathematics ! Role and influence of the later is quite trivial compared to what the PET does or can do to you. If I was to introduce religion again, I would start with Three Biological Gods - Progesterone, Estrogen and Testosterone instead of Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwar !

We are what we are, men or women, because of the unique combination of PET right from when we are conceived to till we die. And it is an ever evolving journey as your body ages under different environmental (hormonal, emotional, physical, technical, biological, etc) situation.

One has to put real efforts to understand the role of these hormones. If you are a novice and unaware about the strength or the mechanism of your own body or the influence of these hormones you will end up blaming yourself or others around you for your own biological constitution (in particular for Men) and fluctuation (specifically for Women).

It was only day before yesterday, when I was talking to some friends (guys and gals) when I realized how important it is for a man and women to understand each others biology to be able to understand each other. I mean it would definitely help to decipher each other to some extent better with some aid from an understanding of PET than without. PET are the sole reasons I believe to explain the claim that men are from Mars and Women from Venus. When in reality they are not so different except their hormonal composition!

Ok, so back to my what I wanted to write.

Well, I have been thinking about writing about this issue for long. I am not the first one to talk or write about it either. But ever since I developed a hormonal understanding of life, my life became more simple, easy and less stressful. I became a happier and easy going person than what I was! I became less hard on myself and on others too.

It led to realize how complicated our own body is and a miracle in itself, specially a woman's. It's a self managed factory with its own unique conditioning that only we, ourselves, can hope to gather some understanding. I think having a complete understanding of yourself, your mind, body and soul is next to impossible. But within the impossibility whatever one gathers to gage is better than nothing. Alteast it has helped me immensely and I think understanding oneself starts from there. The more we understand ourself the more we are capable of understanding others. Knowing about your own self, as a man or women, is the our first responsibility towards ourselves.

I am starting to write to about the journey of the 'egg' from birth to death and how it affects us, with a hope that it will help me, as a human, a woman, to understand the other. I am not writing it as a justification for women to explain their mood swings or for men in hope for understanding their women. It's a plain simple write up what I think happens to our body, its physical and emotional consequences that I witnessed myself or in others. It is the journey that I want to remember and remind myself as I meet newer people in my life. And I hope someday, the hormonal view of life that I have developed help me and others to lead a peaceful life in future.

All my readers here, are welcome to write and share their experiences if they want to. I would only request them to be as honest as possible in their experiences on the influence of 'the egg.'

As a human, I think it's very important for us to know ourselves. I don't know how a man's mind works hence cannot tell or write anything about them. I wish I had a male reader who could give me his honest view on life or his journey of understanding himself and souls around him. But as of now this is a good start. I will writing from henceforth under this 'label' about my experiences and understanding of my own biology and science.

As a man, I think it's very important to know about some basic facts about the women you care about. And as a women, its your responsibility to be able to understand everybody around you, as I think, a woman (a mother, a sister, a wife, a daughter) is the pillar of a family, a house. And with little help and understanding from their better half, (the father, the husband, the brother, the son) you can build an unbeatable and unconquered palace of peace and harmony.

God Bless.

NB - I think it was the friend, who told, why don't you women maintain a journal of your own, an honest one possibly, for us to understand you gals better.

I don't know if maintaining such a journal is possible but if one really wants to have a broad understanding of each gender then there are plenty of scientific reports, documents and books towards the same. It was definitely a well apprecaited gesture, though at the same time I think that the basic kindness and humanity should not be compromised behind the walls of science. One should also keep in mind, that each human being is unique and different. One has to have an understanding of that uniqueness to be able to understand each other the best. The journals, the documents, the papers can only give you a general idea but they are not the only possible explanation!

Hurricane Aila !!

Though the name 'Aila' reminds me of some hot and sesky babe, but due to its association with the rains and storms it got a new dimension in my dictionary.

Its just a coincidence but there was a similar storms blowing in my house too. Infact there were more than ONE. One after another, without any warnings. Wish we can install a local weather monitoring system in our head, to gage the homely storms, which in reality are not homely from any angle! Infact they destroy whatever you call or think as home.

Anyway, with Aila gone, the storm here is settled too. But I really lost my head after almost a year or may be 1.5! Yah, I was mad at something. For me anger is devastating. I rarely loose my head or kewl or get upset, primarily because it affects me physically. I fall sick. This is the main reason why I do not take things too seriously in a negative way. And the moment anger creeps-in a bond breaks. May be over last 10 years I have ran into the habit of not being angry on anyone and if I am then it has to be something really serious. And once that happens, my head just cracks and nothing goes in, specially when I am left to undo the damage on my own.

They say 'Time is the best healer'. It surely IS. For me Time, Healing, and Distance go hand in hand, specially if I am hurt. So over time for my own safety, I have adopted a binary code of life (0 or 1) when I also understand and agree that things in real life cannot be 0 or 1. It will make life too brittle. One has to be willing to move between then two number, for the peace of mind (own and others).

So, technically I remain in the grey zone, unless I have to put a sudden break. And putting a sudden break is as damaging to a car as it is to the human body. I get sick and unwell.

But like a car, breaks should not be held for too long. Else the car would stop and may be spin on the road. Until now, I had always used hard breaks as that was necessary.

For a change this time I choose to go easy, and use soft and small breaks. I choose so, because I wanted to. It was more relaxing and easy to get back to the road as well without damaging any bonds.

Thus left the 'Aila' in my life over past few weeks with a calmness too.

When you Love some One...

Wanted to post it on my photoblog.. but felt more comfortable to share it here..
And this is what I have learnt, over the years - 'To Stay'

We all have differences, opinions, experiences, moments, sadness, pain, worries, responsibilities, uncertainties, commitments but the winner are those who learn the art to 'STAY'. Moving on is easy in today's date.. everybody is strong and confident but at the end of the day who stayed and whom you stayed for matters the most...

I am thankful to God -
For, having people who stayed and the people I could stay back for...

And the learning on the 'Art to Stay' continues...
Thanks Life

Pink Tulips

Hi Shona
Hope you are doing well..
Haven't written you for a while.
How are things with you?
I am doing good.
Came to work and remembered you so thought of writing to you.
Oh, did I tell you there were pink tulips in my backyard today.
Remember we planted them together last winter?
Yah, it's been a year that the bulbs were hidden within the earthy soil, saved from snow and hail, storm and rain.
First came the green, then came the bud.
And finally after some rain and sun, this week came the tulips in full bloom.
It feels nice, pleasant and content to see something growing up infront of you, specially when you planted it together. And equally painful to see them die or wither out. Wish you were here to see them smile in sunshine.

Love
Pink Tulip.

The Pink Tulip - I wonder why she looks at me for long? I wonder if she thinks something as she waters me? I wonder where is the other person I used to see when I was a baby? She was smiling as she tended me, then I saw her wipe the mist in her eyes. Wish I was just not a flower that could only see and not reciprocate. Wish I could tell her, not to feel bad. I did not understand why she cried. And I did not understand either why I felt bad. I knew was she has nurtured me the most. And I wanted to kiss her good night.

A Walk Down the Memory Lane...

I came to work... but ended up reading my own blog...or posts from the past..
It was refreshing, rejuvenating and reassuring to see myself grown in last 4 years..
Had I not written and shared myself here, Had I not had the few friends that I could talk to once in a while, I don't think I would have ever survived in this lonely country... after surviving a severe accident in India !!!

Sorry, I can't be modest here, but it feels nice to see and run through the memories of last four years. Am glad that today they are history. And tomorrow this post too will be history.

I have written fictions, poems, stories, concepts, bakwaas, ideas,
I have taken out my frustrations here...
I have cooled down or focused myself here..
I have forgiven people here...
I have forgotten people who used to be here...
I have made friends here...
I have lost friend here...

I remember there was a time in 2007, when I had none BUT just this space. And all I did was write and write. Some of my best post are nothing but a different expression of some emotion (pain or peace) that I witnessed or survived. Infact I started blogging after a big blow at the end of 2005. I think that was a significant turning point of my life in US.

My first blow in US was in 2004. Though I regained stability post 2004, I was still vulnerable and 2005 happened. But that was it. Post 2005, I choose to spend more time with myself and for myself. I weeded most people out of my life. I enjoyed solitude. I loved my time, my space. I enjoyed the bike rides up in the canyon, I enjoyed my time in the pool.. and whenever I would feel lonely, I would talk to Shyam and Madan..

We would conference, almost every other day, Me from Logan, Shyama from Boston and Madana from CA and yaap for hours talking about our respective people's in our lives. I wonder what would I do, if these two people were not there in my life then. Those were the years when I realized the strength and depth of our friendship. Being miles apart, we were still so close. We would fight, we would argue, yet we were there for each other. We had our own lives in our respective places yet we were together. Soon we got busy with our own lives but it was never, a zero ever. We would always be able to tune into each other whenever need be..

Even today, after 6 years (I met them in 2003 and we three became close friends from 2004) with Shyama and Madana married, and shyama with shamu, it just takes a sec to tune into each others life. Now a days we speak to each other may be once in every two months or may be even less... but tuning in still stays the same... I think my friendship with these two souls is something I will always be proud of. We fought, we stopped talking, we argued, BUT ultimately we survived. And that's what matters the most.

I dream of day, when three of us will again meet for a proper vacation with our respective family and we will tell stories to each others children and wives/husband on how they were 10 years back or 20 years back or when they were students.. on how shyama was our fav cook, how madan was hyperactive, I was the best dish washer they could ever get..and the story can go on and on and on ..

Madan and Shyam, were my pillars. If I ever become famous and I write a book on how to have the sunny side up, I will owe it to them.

Am glad that I wrote for all these years. I have something to cherish, look back and smile.

Madan and Shyam. Without them my 'Hall of Fame' is empty. The two most important and significant people in my life in US till date.

Life is with Me...

because He is With Me,
because Faith is With Me,
because Love is with Me,
because Patience is with Me,
because Time is with Me,
because Trust is with Me,
because Smile is with Me,
because Peace is with Me,
because Passion is with Me,
because Honesty is with Me,
because Home is with Me,
because Hope is with Me,
because Work is with Me,
because Universe is with Me,
because Dream is with Me,
because She is with Me,
because Happiness is with Me,
Above all,
because God is with Me...

.........

I do not have a title.. for this post..

Something unbelievable happened. Hence I have nothing to say.. but to just remind myself to not loose faith on life, people and myself.

Believe that if you are honest, and you have done nothing wrong, god and life will stand by you..
A real test of life. Only time shall say, if I pass or fail, but I will not give up on my faith and what I believe.

Be True to yourself, and Life will be with you..

I so wish this had not happened, hold on to yourself and your faith.
It will return if you were honest.

And I will..

Love You God, I need you today the most.. and I don't even know till when..
Be There..

Is it... Natural or unNatural

to want to share everything with the people you love the most?
If not everything, but things that are important to you?
We possibly cannot share everything going in our head with anyone!
It will be a in-human torture for the receiving soul !
But may be few, significant, important, painful and happy moments we keep hidden from everyone, we wish to share it with a selected few.

We wish to confide in them, not because we want them to understand but may be just listen.
Just to let go of that burden or pain. May be we are seeking a shoulder to just rest on or look back at those days when things were not so fine, or may be we are just cherishing a happy memory that happened to us..

It is just wanting to share something that was or is important to you. Sharing need not mean or translate to understanding always. If it does, great infact a bliss, but nobody can possibly understand or experience the same joy or pain as you did in that moment...

So, Is sharing important?
Is having the expectation to share natural?
Or, is it another misnomer for expectation?

To me sharing is equivalent to caring. But am sure it differs from people to people....
