According to the USU email log, your USU email account:
XYZ@CC.USU.EDU was among those that received an email message last night
with the subject line: "Verify Your Cc.usu.edu Account Now"
That message was a forgery from a computer in the Netherlands. The reply address was in the United Kingdom.
If you followed those instructions, your password is now in the hands of hackers. You should change your password on that account or have that account deleted. If you used the same password on any other account, you should probably change it there, too. To change your password or have your old cc.usu.edu account deleted, go to:
https://barney.usu.edu/compserv/maintainuser.shtml
and follow the options there. (You may see a couple of security popups there, accept them and proceed.)
In addition to accessing your email via IMAP or POP, the hacker could log in to USU's VPN server, proxy server, or register an IP address on USU's wireless network. It is important for you and for everyone else that your password remain a secret.
